Interestingly, there seemed to be a gender divide in the gaming community when it came to different genres. A study published in 1982 suggested that 60% of Pac-Man players were women, while a staggering 90% of those playing space shoot-'em-up games like Omega Race were men. This highlights the diverse appeal of Pac-Man and the unique role it played in shaping the gaming landscape of its time.
